Regional Beach Team
General Information
There will be a Regional Beach Team this year that will culminate with the Ontario Summer Games (OSG) in Toronto in August. The aim of this program is to identify and develop athletes aged 16U (both boys and girls) & below in order to eventually prepare them for the Provincial and National Beach Team Programs.
Region 6 will be allowed to send 3 teams per gender (6 boys and 6 girls) to the OSG and train an additional alternate team per gender (in case of injury, may attend OSG).
Cost of this program: 175-225$ - registration fee for OSG, 100-150$ - R6 fees for coaching honorarium and facility use, so total cost will be 275-375$ Please consult following link for addtionnal information (Regional Beach Team Handbook): http://www.ontariovolleyball.org/images/OSG%20Handbook.pdf
Selection Process
As indicated in the OVA Regional Beach Team Handbook, the individuals/teams will be selected based on the following criterias: OVA beach tour points/participation in OVA beach tour (teams participating in OSG are expected to do 3 OVA events and provincials prior to OSG), skill level, physical abilities and behavioral aptitudes. Tryouts will take place Sunday June 10th at the MaxVolley facility (813 Shefford Road, Ottawa) from 10 am to 4 pm. Cost: 20$
Training
Teams are expected to train 3 times per week with certified beach coaches. Schedule and location to be determined according to coaching staff and geographical location of selected athletes.
Competitions
As stated in the selection process section, teams will be expected to participate in the OVA Youth Beach Tour (3 events and Provincials). Cost of these events not included in the program.
Regional Beach Camp
A training weekend will take place in Ottawa Friday July 6th to Sunday July 8th (including OVA Ottawa Beach Tour event on Saturday). An OVA headliner will conduct the camp. Non selected athletes and older athletes will also be. Cost: free for Regional Beach Team Athletes, 75$ for other participants.
Ontario Summer Games OSG will take placve in Toronto (Ashbridges Bay) August 16th to 19th

Ontario Volleyball Association Region 6
Region 6 is a geographical region of the Ontario Volleyball Association (OVA). We are a non-profit member-based provincial sports organization where dedicated volunteers provide leadership in the growth and development of volleyball for Eastern Ontarians. We represent the geographic region from Deep River to Kingston and east to the Quebec border (Brockville, Cornwall, Ottawa ).
